We all have them, we all try and do them every so often, I’m talking about favourite walks. I love the Lake District, but, it’s only when Karl or Sue are going up there (and certain other parameters are in situ) that I can actually get there. Far closer and much more practical are the twin favourites of Winter Hill and Pendle Hill.
It’s a poorly kept secret that I love walking up and around Pendle Hill, I’ve now done most of the routes up to the summit, Merely Moor still eludes me, but again at ninety minutes, this is a fairly long drive for me. Much nearer (by half) are the West Pennines.
